Change Is Coming
by John M. Waller
This old world keeps turning, it changes every day,
an animal here for millions of years is not here today
Even institutions are crumbling to the ground,
you see it everywhere – there’s changes all around.
You read it in the paper, see it on the news,
there’s something happening somewhere that effects me and you.
There’s change in the weather – acid rain, it kills!
there’s change up in Alaska, they gotta cleanup Exxon’s spill
There’s change in the White House, in Russia and China, too,
there’s change in the Middle East, but still no one knows what to do.
There’s change in the attitudes of people being ruled,
they’re tried of being trampled on, tried of being fooled.
There’s change in the Catholic church as moral values erode,
there’s change at the court house as the systems overloads.
There’s change on the streets, where drugs rule the night,
there’s crack babies with AIDS who’ll never see the light.
But hear me out now, there’s changes for the good,
people are wizening up and acting like they should.
Missles are dismantled, designed to never be used,
nuclear reduction moves the match away from the fuse.
Global communications has brought us all together,
modern technology can make this world better.
Its up to you and I to deal with changes as they come,
for the changes of tomorrow are unknown to everyone.
