Who Cares About You

If you’re alone, or the streets are your home
you think no one cares much about you,
You’re mad at the world, be you boy or a girl
it seems your life’s been nothing but bad news.
Through the day and the night, ‘til the dawn’s morning light
your whole day is filled with pain and fear,
You hope and you pray that maybe some day
someone’ll come take you away from here.
But in your dreams, you’re laughing in the sunshine
in your dreams, you’re living - its a good time
in your dreams, you’re loved and have a clear mind
in your dreams, you’ve found yourself some friends.
In your dreams, no one is going to hurt you
in your dreams, nobody will desert you
yes, in your dreams no one is gonna hurt you
but then your dreams are coming to an end.
If you can hear my voice then you can make a choice
to change your life and change your heart,
Because I’m here to help, to help you help yourself
and there’s one thing you must do to make the start.
You’ve got to look deep inside, in that hole you try to hide
and forgive all those who’ve made your sadness,
Let me fill that hole with hope and let me help you cope
with your troubles and problems and sadness.
You see, in this world there are people who will help you
in this world there are people who’ll protect you
in this world there are people who respect you
in this world, the Lord has many friends.
Yes, in this world you can laugh in the sunshine
in this world you can live and have a good time
in this world you can love and have a clear mind
because in this world your dreams don’t have to end.
If you’re alone, or the streets are your home
you think no one cares much about you,

that at least someone cares - I do.
